West Digests are basically a collection of headnotes arranged in topical order. Digests act as an index to case books. Almost every series of case books has a corresponding digest. For instance, the Pacific Reporter has the Pacific Digest. The Hawaii Reports have the Hawaii Digest. Features:
- digests do not publish cases, but collect headnotes topically
- arranged alphabetically by topic (subject matter)
- published by West Publishing Company
- part of the Key Number research system
- because digests do not publish or discuss cases or law, and only contains headnotes, digests are considered non-authority
